Welcome to our campaign Ballot Access HQ. The establishment candidates cruise to ballot access while forcing independents like us to gather more than 1 million signatures. But their rigged system is no match for our surging populist movement. Come November 2024, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will be on the ballot in all 50 states and DC and he will become the next president of the United States.

Ballot access is the signature gathering process that candidates must complete in each state for their name to appear on the ballot on Election Day. Each state has its own signature requirement, petitioning start date, and filing deadline. As a people-powered campaign, we’re counting on you, our volunteers, to grab a clipboard, join a canvass, and sign up your friends, families, coworkers, and communities.

Our ballot access can be broken up into stages. Once your state opens for petitioning, our field team and volunteers will gather signatures at regular high-traffic canvasses of busy public areas. Good locations include post offices, public university campuses, DMVs, libraries, busy sidewalks, and events like fairs, festivals, and football games.

Each week our volunteers will deliver their signatures to their state field leadership, who will mail them to our secure national signature vault in Southern California. At the vault, the signatures will be scanned and validated by comparing each one to the voter file, a public record of voter names and addresses. This process will tell us how many valid signatures we have and how many more we need to collect.

Our field team in each state will continue petitioning until we’ve reached the number of signatures we need plus a large buffer. When the deadline approaches in each state, the petitions will be sent back to their states and turned in. The states will then validate the signatures themselves to affirm that we have enough, after which they will certify that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is a qualified presidential candidate in that state and print his name on the ballot.

To get involved, sign up to volunteer and check the ballot access box on our volunteer page. Then head to our events map to sign up for signature canvasses and general events in your state. Our field team will reach out after you sign up to volunteer. We will also contact you for upcoming national petitioning trainings.

The campaign is proud to announce that supporters have formed a new political party that will get Bobby on the ballot in five states: California, Delaware, Hawaii, Mississippi, and North Carolina. The party is called “We The People.”

Most states offer independent presidential candidates two methods of achieving ballot access — as an individual candidate or as the nominee of a new party. The two processes often require different numbers of signatures. In most states, the individual candidate process requires fewer signatures. However, in some states, the party ballot access requires fewer signatures and is the most direct path to ballot access. Once a new party achieves ballot access this way, they can nominate the candidate of their choosing, in this case, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

With these party filings, we’re reducing the number of valid signatures we need to get on the ballot nationwide by 302,000, nearly a third of the total. In Hawaii and North Carolina, the new party will get ballot access through collecting signatures. In California and Delaware, the new party will get ballot access by registering members to the party online, 75,000 in California and 769 in Delaware. In Mississippi, the new party will be able to get ballot access without collecting any signatures or party registrations.

In California, you can register with the party online at the California Secretary of State’s website. Simply fill out the voter registration form there, select “other” as your party preference at the bottom of the form, and type in “We The People” in the box on the right. Please sign up for the party and encourage all of your family, friends, colleagues, and community members to join you. Each new member brings us one step closer to ballot access in California. You can find detailed instructions to register here (downloadable version here).

“We the people” are the first three words of the U.S. Constitution. These words symbolize that our government draws its power from the people that it was made to serve.

This past October, RFK Jr. returned to Philadelphia, the birthplace of the United States, and declared his independence from the “bankrupt two-party system.” He did so with the National Constitution Center behind him and the words “We the people” etched into the building by his side.

Standing in that historic place he said, “Like the Founding Fathers declared their independence from the crown more than two centuries ago, today we declare our independence from the corrupting influence of Wall Street and corporate donors that have rigged our economy for the few at the expense of the many.”

On Team Kennedy, our top petitioners will be campaign heroes. While the establishment parties care only about how much money someone can give, we believe in recognizing and rewarding those who give their time, dedication, and hard work. That’s why we’ll soon be rolling out reward tiers for those who gather the most signatures for Mr. Kennedy in your state and across the country. Rewards will range from free merchandise, to a personally signed photo of RFK Jr., to quality time with the next president.

Supportive small businesses are playing a big role in our ballot access by allowing supporters to meet there and sign the petition. Or by letting volunteers canvass outside. If you own a small business that could serve as a signature rally point, please fill out this form and we’ll be in touch.

View the signatures required in every state here. Thirty-nine states require 10,000 or fewer signatures while California, Florida, and Texas require more than 100,000.

A large number of our signatures are coming from intrepid individuals who print our petition sheets and instructions and canvass in their area. We encourage everyone to print the forms and canvass your area. Be sure to connect with your state field staff to return your petitions to your state lead weekly for delivery to the signature vault, validation, and safe keeping. You can find the petition sheets and instructions for our states that are open for signature collection here:
